McClintock School is located in the picturesque village of Seskinore, in rural County Tyrone. We have a reputation both locally and wider afield of providing an excellent education for all of our children.
McClintock P.S. recognises that each child has talents that need to be awakened. Through the broad and balanced curriculum that McClintock offers, we believe that the potential that your child possesses can be unlocked and nurtured.
Our primary school is also renowned for its caring ethos where the intellectual, spiritual, moral, emotional and physical aspects of each child is developed and celebrated.
‘Learning together for tomorrow’ is our school motto, created by our pupil led school council. It embodies the spirit of what our school community achieves through working collaboratively.
The school crest depicts a pheasant in the nearby Seskinore forest, an area of natural beauty, peace and historical significance to the McClintock family. They built the original school building over 120 years ago. The sun rising in the background signifies the warmth of our school environment and the pheasant which can fly to heights that we believe that everyone can aspire to.

Learning Together for Tomorrow
Aims
- To provide a happy, stimulating and imaginative environment wherein each child may work to achieve the optimum degree of success in the basic skills and knowledge required by the NI curriculum.
- To develop each child spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically, so that by realising his/her potential he/she can have an appreciation of his/her self-worth as a technologically competent lifelong learner.
- To assess each child’s potential (including those with special needs and disabilities) to monitor progress and provide opportunity to develop this to the full.
- To help children to develop an understanding of their own culture and tradition and to foster tolerance by promoting respect and understanding of others.
- To encourage respect and to promote awareness of the effects of their immediate environment and their actions on the World in which they live appreciating man’s wide ranging achievements from early times to the present day.
- To develop the ability to work independently and as a member of a group so the child may develop tolerance, respect, resourcefulness, self-confidence and responsibility towards other people, their views and possessions.
- To develop home-school links so that children can benefit from their teachers and parents working as partners in their education.
- To establish and maintain acceptable forms of behaviour within a secure and well-ordered school environment by encouraging self-discipline.
- To have a harmonious and open environment in which the staff can have an opportunity to contribute towards formulating and developing school and curriculum policies whilst developing their own expertise with regard to the growth of new teaching materials, resources and classroom practice.
