Sprightly 97-year-old Jim Riddell came back to his old school to recall what school life was like in Seskinore over 90 years ago.
At a whole school assembly P1-7 pupils Katie, Theo, Harper, Finley, Darcie, Olivia and Zach posed questions to Jim. At the end of the assembly Alfie McDonald, the school’s youngest pupil presented Jim, the oldest living former pupil, with a special limited edition 125th anniversary badge.
Jim then went back to the original room he was taught in. He mentioned it was regarded as a state-of-the-art school at the time. The pupils were captivated how Jim explained how to lessen the impact of the dreaded cane!
We were delighted to listen to Jim’s memories and incredible positivity which rubbed off on all McClintock pupils and staff alike.
At the end of the day each pupil received a specially commissioned 125th anniversary badge.
The school is very grateful to the Seskinore Rural Community Group for kindly paying for the event to be recorded.
